Carla and "Feather"

Carla is a veteran science teacher of 25 years.  She still loves teaching and being creative in the classroom.  She has a special interest in color blindness, and her first book, “Feather and the Lonesome Firefly,” was specifically designed to be colorful for all children, including those who are colorblind.  She feels that they have been forgotten for too long.

Carla is an animal photographer and loves being outdoors.  She loves animals, especially horses and golden retrievers.  Her beloved past golden retriever, Feather, is the main character for her first books.  Carla’s dream is to touch the lives of those who read her stories about Feather. She also wants to make a difference by supporting horse rescue, as Luke and Rusty are both rescues themselves. 

She has a variety of books on the way, including some that will be colorblind inclusive.  Watch for her stories about wolves, raccoons, and unicorns!
